That time of the year again. The first of the Chinook salmon arrived in the Eagle River next to Griffin Lake Cabin rentals. We expect they’ll be here for about 5 weeks ans will then be replaced by huge run of Sockeye Salmon.

Lower Taxes at Griffin Lake Cabin Rentals

The provincial government has just given us the green light to stop charging the Hotel Room Tax (8%) for all stays after today. If you’ve already booked and paid your deposits the new tax regime will automatically be reflected on your “final payment” invoice and payment. Unfortunately the GST (5%) does still apply to all bookings.

Some winter hiking / snowshoeing photos on the new Eagle View trail

Here are a few photos I took today while Heather and I were hiking on our new Eagle View trail which runs along the – you guessed it – the Eagle River. While hiking along we actually saw a huge Golden Eagle cruising down the river but by the time I got the camera out it was too late – seriously. You can see in one of the photos that we have to cross Camp Creek on a “snow bridge”. That bridge is still a little iffy but if we break through, the water is really not very deep, but it is cooooold!      ...

Hi there! Well after a lot of fighting and wrestling with a new CMS web system, I’ve finally got the new mobile friendly Griffin Lake Cabins website up and running. Hope you like it! The coolest thing about this site is that i has a “responsive” design, that is it will automatically re-configure the blocks and elements on the page to properly display for any screen size from mobile all the way up to full width desktop devices. You can even just re-size the  window and everything adjusts nicely. Try it!
